The owners of this garden in Sutton were nearing the end of extensive renovations to their Georgian property. They wanted to create a garden that would be practical and beautiful for entertaining and provide a flexible space for their pool, which would double up as a seating area when the pool was not in use.
The limestone patio has been raised slightly and extended to provide level access through the newly installed bi-fold doors. The choice of materials blends with the interior to give a feeling of the garden being an extension of the house. The curved retaining walls have been rendered and painted to match the house. Steps lead down to a brick path which meanders its way down the garden to an oak pavilion at the end, complete with fireplace, allowing al fresco entertaining whatever the weather.
An elegant planting scheme has been chosen using only green and white plants, with the emphasis on texture and form.
