A conventional family garden with an uninspiring lawn has been transformed into a contemporary outdoor relaxation and entertaining area. We installed new patios to match the new extension’s interior flooring to allow a level transition from the house to the garden. The main focus of the garden is a Purbeck stone fireplace that sits above a polished concrete hearth within a sunken patio, creating a cosy informal area for relaxation. The hot tub was lowered into the ground and set within decking, enclosed on one side by a built-in bench and planting. The structural planting of topiary and niwaki trees is softened with grasses and tall wispy Verbena.
